The RSI Approach
The trifecta of language immersion, advanced academics, and the arts
RSI is the only private, multilingual, multicultural arts school in Southern California. We offer trilingual education, college preparatory academics, and pre-professional arts training in a multicultural setting. Our model offers students a unique and transformative educational experience, teaching to the whole child. We are revolutionizing the learning process by integrating performing and visual arts training into our established strong academic curriculum.
The RSI Trifecta
Our Foundation for Success
Empowering students to change the future through our four pillars of excellence
Language
From day one, students enter full language immersion classes in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and English. Multilingualism has many benefits including improved cognitive skills for problem-solving and decision-making, enhanced creativity and mental agility. These advantages result in boosting overall academic progress and student achievements.

Students who learn multiple languages have a wide range of opportunities from connecting with others around the world to expanding their future career opportunities. Through exposure and connection with other cultures, students broaden their perspective, make friends, explore different hobbies or interests and will be prepared to compete and succeed globally.
Learning
In alignment to always be on the educational edge, RSI has enriching academic standards based on curriculum from around the world and researched best practices. The STEM approach we use encompasses innovative hands-on exploration, critical thinking skill development and the ability to problem-solve through weekly creativity activities.

Unique to other schools, we integrate the implementation of Singapore Math and Singapore Science coupled with a trilingual mastery of Chinese, Spanish and English Language Arts to create a vigorous learning foundation for students.
Our teaching model follows a layered learning approach at every grade level to promote mastery and commitment of knowledge to long-term memory. Students are assessed quarterly to gauge learning benchmarks, measure academic proficiency and foster individual capabilities. We also facilitate engaging techniques aimed to reach a variety of learning styles; crafts, arts and music are used to enhance every subject matter with the intent of encouraging exploration, the acquisition of new knowledge and a life-long love for learning.
Leadership
Students are nurtured to be inquisitive leaders using the Leader in Me Program to instill the seven habits of highly successful people beginning in kindergarten. To emulate real-world environment, class leadership roles are assigned to students giving them opportunities to take on different leadership positions on the playground and school-wide by joining the student council or starting student-led clubs.

Our leadership program develops students’ self-confidence, teaches responsibility and helps students find their voice.
To further leadership development, students are taught character building, emotional intelligence and essential life skills to support continuous healthy attitudes and behaviors. Skills include effective communication, public speaking, proactivity, goal setting and aspirations to succeed. These are vital to build a lifetime of good habits that are advantageous at every life stage. It is this combination of life skills and advanced academics that fosters a wholesome child to thrive in the academic environment.

Through volunteering, students learn to develop character, empathy towards others and are more receptive to understanding others’ experiences. RSI elementary students are required to volunteer at least 6 hours during the school year, middle school students are required to volunteer 12 hours and High School students need to fulfill at least 15 volunteer hours. With various options available, students can volunteer at local community clean-ups, food pantries and local senior centers. Our students have the opportunity to also come up with unique projects to help charities and organizations that speak to their hearts. By volunteering, students develop a healthier perspective of the world, gain a greater sense of responsibility and learn their actions make a difference.
On a global scale, RSI students have opportunities to gain a wider perspective by translating their on-campus experience to real-world experiences through school-wide international trips and study abroad experiences when they are in High School.
