Outside the Box – Nicole Kelly
Every November, RSI students and families come together to celebrate Grandparents and Special Friends over Veterans Day. RSI was thrilled to welcome students, their grandparents, and special friends on campus for our first school-wide event in over a year!
The morning began with the Pledge of Allegiance led by our High School Freshmen, then a moment to acknowledge, thank, and honor our Veterans. We were so honored to have so many RSI families, grandparents, parents, and friends who have served our country. They all took a moment to stand up and were cheered on! They were also given a special American Flag pendant as a “Thank You”. Students spent the morning with their special guests by perusing and shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair with their family and grandparents and sharing a warm pancake breakfast together. After eating, students and loved ones shared special moments with each other laughing, getting creative and making crafts together, and taking pictures. All enjoyed a time of connection, delicious pancakes, and creativity.
