Outside the Box – Nicole Kelly

Students started their fall after-school enrichment program classes last week. In RSI’s after-school program, preschool and elementary students have opportunities to join their friends and instructors for fun classes like soccer, chess art, LEGOS and STEM! RSI is also offering specialized after-school enrichment classes like Model UN, Toastmasters and tennis club, dedicated to Middle School and High School students.

This year, RSI is very excited to open up dedicated enrichment classes for our Middle School and High School students. These classes are suited to fit our students’ needs by helping advance their skillsets and deepen their knowledge. The after-school enrichment program for older students include: Model UN, AMC8 Math, AP Coding, Journalism, Toastmasters and Tennis.

Students started the week with chess class, where they were introduced to the rules of chess. They began practicing basic strategies so they have a foundation to build on overtime. Art students had a blast creating mosaics and practicing their creativity, while soccer students ran drills to help refine their soccer skills. Other students got a chance to step into the world of science and STEM in Lego Robotics, Silly Science, and the STEM Lab. It was a successful first week of enrichment classes. We can’t wait for them to learn so much more!

RSI’s after-school enrichment program is open to the public. For detailed class descriptions and registration information, visit our Enrichment Programs page.
