Outside the Box – Nicole Kelly

RSI teachers and staff set up intentional activities each day that spark imagination and help students explore their creativity. In addition to social-emotional skills and developing language skills, imagination is significant in developing the child as a whole. Throughout the day, teachers make learning fun and encourage creativity through colorful worksheets and independent projects. Teachers and staff also think outside the box to come up with new and engaging activities for our students, from outlining their body on butcher paper to help them learn anatomy, to the science of exploding volcanos, and engineering with big blocks and Legos, creative activities ignite imaginations. By spending time outdoors, crafting, making books and stories memorable, and fun sing-a-longs and rhymes are great ways students are expanding their creative problem-solving abilities and expanding their social-emotional potential.
