RSIOC welcomes spring with Latin American Spring Festival

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

On March 21 students at the Renascence School International celebrated the Latin American culture and  the start of spring. The students made some pretty flowers and butterflies, some of which were used to decorate the campus news boards. The older students also put on a play in Spanish about a vain little mouse (La Ratita Presumida). It is a folktaile about a little mouse and her many admirers. An adventuresome story for our students which helped them to learn the Spanish words for animals, colors, body parts and more. The she-mouse was seduced by the cat to marry him, not knowing that the cat planned to eat her! Our students cheered when she was saved by her neighbor the he-mouse who has always been in love with her.
