RSIOC is getting into the holiday spirit

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

The Renascence School International teachers and staff have been busing getting ready for the holiday season. Decorating the campus and planning special events, the holiday spirit can definitely be felt at school! The RSI Parent Committee set up a Giving Tree on campus. Families can select the name of a child in need, placing an ornament with that child’s name on the Giving Tree. RSIOC families can then purchase gifts for that person. These donations are going to help out the homeless families of Orange County through the nonprofit SPIN.

Thank you to the room moms for organizing a fun holiday event, a tree decorating competition. Each class has chosen a country to be the theme for their tree and then let the imaginations soar as students and teachers get to decorating! Some of the countries chosen are U.S.A., Germany, France, Spain, Israel, Indonesia, China, and Mexico. This is a great way for students to learn about how other cultures celebrate this holiday season!

The trees will be set up for viewing on the last day of school. Each tree will have a display sharing information about their country and the students will have the opportunity to share what they have learned about their country and it’s unique culture.
