RSI Tidy Backpack Contest

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

All parents want their children to grow up of strong mind and character. The Renascence School International uses a supplemental curriculum to help students develop specific character building traits. The Chinese teacher, Ms. Vanessa Wu is spearheading a character building project with elementary students that focuses on stewardship. Stewardship is the careful and responsible management of things that are entrusted to you. One way RSI practices this is by having a Tidy Backpack Contest between classes. Recently, students have eagerly competed to be the class with the most tidy backpack area!

C8 was the winning class for April’s Tidy Backpack Contest! This earned the C8 class a free dress day on Friday, April 28th. Congratulations Class 8!

Please keep in mind the following free dress guidelines:
Please avoid spaghetti strap tops, see-through shirts, short shorts/skirts/dresses, and items with inappropriate messages. Shoes must be closed heeled and closed toed.

In addition to the Tidy Backpack Contest, classes C8 and C10 have also participated in project-based learning led by Ms. Wu. In an outdoor, hands-on setting students have been caring for the RSI organic garden. Students are encouraged to develop environmental stewardship, empowering them to embrace healthy living and responsibility for nature’s resources.
