RSI Summer Camp – International Space Explorers – Week 1

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

RSI Summer Camp International Space Explorers kicked off the first week with days packed full of hands-on fun and learning! Here is a recap of some of this week’s summer camp activities.

L2 “Little Martians” worked on developmental skills through activities like finger painting and building with legos. Students worked on gross motor developoment skills by playing a game of bean bag toss and they nurtured their creative side by making rainbows!

L3 “Super Novas” took a short walk across the street to the neighborhood library and made slime!

L4-L5 “Star Gazers” practiced greetings in Spanish and Mandarin, numbers and learned about the stars and moon.

Cosmic Astronauts and Space Frontiers constructed missions during Spanish class, learned calligraphy in Chinese, and created descriptive short stories in english class.

During enrichment classes students learned how to code, and brought robotics to life (campers really enjoyed wearing the silly robot heads that they created)!
