Creativity, teamwork and imagination

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

The Renascence School International C8 and C9 students are part of a special project-based class where they are learning about brainstorming, working together and planning. RSIOC is a language immersion school, and this class is taught in Mandarin which gives the students an opportunity to practice their Chinese in a practical way. Students are learning new tools that will help them to apply what they learn in other classes to real world situations.

As part of this class, the students have spent some time working in the school garden planting and nurturing vegetables and herbs. For the older students, character building is woven into the projects while learning about a new character trait each week. During project class students are encouraged to engage their creativity using teamwork and their imaginations.
