RSI’s Preschool Promotion 2020

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

Congratulations to the L5 RSI preschool students! Thank you to the RSI family for making this year so special and so successful despite some very BIG challenges! RSI’s L5 students have learned and grown so much during their time in preschool. On the last day of school, RSI families joined students, teachers, and staff on campus for a preschool promotion ceremony and car parade, practicing social distancing and protection. Other families were able to attend virtually, via watching the live stream on RSI’s Facebook page. During the ceremony, students were given gifts and a diploma. Teachers and staff are very proud of the L5 students for completing the first big step of their education! RSI looks forward to seeing you this fall in L10 (kindergarten)!

L4 Spanish class is cooking up some fun!

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson & Nicole Kelly

Now that assessments are complete, L4 Spanish has turned to cooking to help students review vocabulary learned throughout the year and introduce them to kid-friendly and tasty recipes! Students are having fun in their virtual cooking class with Sra. Arciniega. A few of the delicious dishes they have made are teddy bear bread snacks, tortilla pizza, banana milkshakes and “ants on a log.” Students shared the love and even made extra snacks for their families to enjoy. What a fun way to wrap up the year and end class with a well-deserved snack! Read More

This talk was specifically focused on creating family mission statements. Family mission statements are a great tool every family can use to bring strength, vision, and unity into our homes. It was great to see everyone engaged and excited about creating a family mission. Some key words that were used in their mission statements were: love, integrity, trust, and unity.

Thank you RSI moms!

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson & Nicole Kelly

Mother’s Day is always a special day at RSI. Teachers and students found ways to celebrate moms in creative and meaningful ways! Some classes did cute crafts and heartfelt cards, others sang songs or wrote letters. Older students wrote a poem in Chinese about their moms, recalling beautiful memories and expressing gratefulness to their mothers. RSI mothers and grandmothers received roses during material pick-up to remind them of how special they are to RSI. Happy Mother’s Day to all RSI moms!
