RSI is all about being prepared!

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

Preparedness is one of the keys to staying safe! The administration and teachers at the Renascence School International are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of their students in case of the event of an earthquake or fire.

RSI participated in the nationwide earthquake safety drill on Oct. 18th and a fire safety drill on Oct. 11th. The teachers were able to practice the emergency procedures that they have been trained to perform, while remaining calm and setting a good example for the students. The students did a great job of following directions while remaining calm and listening to their teachers. When all parties were cleared, the teachers brought all students to the safe zone. The drills were successful and both teachers and students are now better prepared for different types of emergency situations. Read More

RSI participates in the Great ShakeOut!

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson
Every year at 10:19am on Oct 19, RSI participates in the statewide safety drill to prepare for a potential earthquake. All of our students from L3 to C11 did a great job practicing the procedure. They had to get under the desks while they waited for the shake to stop, and move orderly to the open space away from structures, tall trees, and electric poles. The teachers kept the students calm, brought out the emergency kits, and took attendance. The administration checked the classrooms for missing and/or injured students before dismissing the students back to class. This is an important event that RSI takes very seriously! Read More
