RSI kids celebrating the Chinese Moon Festival

Students at the Renascence School International celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival in class last Friday. During Chinese class, teachers shared the Moon Festival story with their students. Some classes colored the picture of moon cakes and “cheng-e” (the main character in the story of moon festival). Other classes created and decorated their own Chinese lanterns. In Chinese culture, the Lantern is a symbol for family reunion and prayer for good fortune. Trying different flavored moon cookies is always a fun treat for the students on this special holiday! Celebrating the Chinese Moon Festival!

Renascence School International celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Chinese Moon Festival. This official holiday is a time of joy and happiness as many Chinese people gather with family and celebrate a time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest of the whole year. As part of the holiday tradition, the students made crafts in honor of this special Chinese holiday. RSI celebrated this special time of year during their Chinese classes last Monday. Students enjoyed making the traditional Chinese lanterns and learning all about the Chinese culture and ancient Chinese legends. Read More

RSIOC celebrates the Chinese Moon Festival

Last week the Renascence School International celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival! All classes learned about this important Chinese holiday and enjoyed tasting the traditional moon cake, a specialty for this occasion. The L4 students sang songs about the moon and the C10 class looked at pictures related to the Moon Festival and talked about them in Chinese class.

Moon Festival Fun!

The Moon Festival (also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival) is an official Chinese holiday. It is a time of joy and happiness as many Chinese people gather with family and celebrate a time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest of the whole year.

Renascence School International students celebrated this special time of year during their Chinese classes last Friday. Teachers and parents came together to tell the children about the Chinese holiday and share stories of ancient Chinese legends.

Students enjoyed eating delicious, traditional moon cakes and participating in activities related to the moon celebration. Some of the classes even made their own Mochi! Students, teachers and parents all had a wonderful time sharing treats, stories and learning more about the Chinese culture.
