Outside the Box – Nicole Kelly

What a fun week of reading, dressing up, and celebrating literacy! Last week RSI students joined students all across America as they participated in Dr. Seuss week to get them excited about reading and encourage them to read more books. Literacy week is celebrated across America where students read their favorite Seuss books like Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and Green Eggs and Ham.
Students participated in Dr. Seuss week by dressing up as their favorite Seuss characters, reading Seuss books, and doing fun crafts and activities. Teachers and students even had green eggs and ham during snack. Although the students enjoyed dressing up and wearing fun clothes all week, last week was about engaging our children in reading and encouraging them to read on a daily basis, and to celebrate literacy every day!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
– Dr. Seuss
