A Dream Becomes Reality

Carrie and Thomas Mizera dreamt of sending their son to a top school that focused on multiple languages and strong STEM training. After an exhaustive search, they found a multilingual immersion school on the East Coast that had developed an unprecedented educational model with the help of accomplished education professionals from around the world. Inspired, the Mizeras founded RSI with a simple goal: to blend the best educators from top performing countries into a system to teach students the three most widely used languages in the world – English, Spanish, and Chinese.

RSI, Orange County’s first trilingual language immersion school, opened in September 2011 with 17 students. The Mizeras and other founding families have held steadfast to a legacy of love for their children and the pursuit of a breakthrough educational model. As the innovative nature of our education became more evident, school families started sharing this treasure with people they knew. Communities also started to take notice of our students in public – noting their language acuity, academic foundation, and the manner and poise in which they carried themselves. With minimal marketing effort, but a lot of hard work and focus, RSI grew from 17 to 200 students in its first eight years.

The foundation of our organization is built on unwavering character and an intentional work ethic backed by trust and a spirit of tenacity. As such, we have a long history of staring down challenges, collaborating to win and coming out ahead. The future is bright at RSI for our students, staff, community and partners. Collectively, we enjoy the core belief that of all the opportunities we have to build into the lives of our students, the best opportunity…is always the next opportunity.
